As an extension service offered by the Department of Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the purpose of the Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP), is to provide small and medium size manufacturing organizations with services they need to succeed and grow their businesses.

MEP centers, serving all 50 states and Puerto Rico, are linked through the NIST, and are funded by a combination of federal, State, Local and private sources. This unique model of resource development, networking and co-funding allows even the smallest organizations to access the expertise of knowledgeable manufacturing and business specialists throughout the United States.
